The 6sense Email Provider uses SendGrid infrastructure to support large-scale email sending and response processing in AI Email.
This article describes important message limits and processing behaviors to consider when using the 6sense Email Provider.
Inbound message processing
When a recipient replies to an email sent through the 6sense Email Provider, SendGrid processes the inbound message before AI Email processes the response.
Inbound message and attachment limits
The total size of an inbound email, including the message body and all attachments, must not exceed 30 MB.
SendGrid does not impose a separate limit on the number of attachments. However, the combined size of the message and all attachments must remain within the 30 MB limit.
If the total message size exceeds 30 MB, SendGrid rejects the message during inbound processing and does not process it further.
Note: Other internet service providers (ISPs) or mail handlers may impose additional restrictions on message or attachment size and type, or block certain attachments before the message reaches the 6sense Email Provider.
Inbound message retry behavior
If SendGrid cannot successfully deliver an inbound message for processing, it automatically retries delivery at increasing intervals for up to 72 hours. If SendGrid successfully delivers the message during this period, the message continues through the normal processing flow.
If SendGrid cannot successfully deliver the message within 72 hours, it permanently drops the message and does not notify the original sender.
Message processing behavior
The following scenarios can prevent SendGrid from processing an inbound message:
Scenario | Behavior |
|---|---|
The total message size exceeds 30 MB | SendGrid rejects the message during inbound processing. |
An upstream ISP or mail provider blocks the message or attachment | The message may not reach the 6sense Email Provider. |
SendGrid cannot successfully deliver the message for processing | SendGrid retries delivery at increasing intervals for up to 72 hours. |
Delivery remains unsuccessful after 72 hours | SendGrid permanently drops the message and does not notify the original sender. |
Outbound email considerations
Sending limits, recipient mail-provider restrictions, spam filtering, and sender reputation can affect outbound email delivery.
To help maintain email deliverability when using the 6sense Email Provider:
Use clean and current recipient lists.
Send emails to recipients who have opted in or have a legitimate reason to receive your emails.
Monitor bounce and spam rates.
Follow applicable privacy and email communication requirements.
