Ensure your segment has enough accounts to be meaningful, and keep it manageable and relevant, such as a firmographic Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) segment. Also ensure that a segment contains enough accounts for your use cases. Importantly, consider the segment’s intended use: - **Activation limits**: Keep segments below 100,000 accounts for [Drift targeting](/v1/docs/drift-integration) and [segment performance reports](/v1/docs/segment-performance-reports). - **Analysis quality**: For reporting, use segments with accounts distributed across [buying stages](/v1/docs/predictive-buying-stages) and engagement states so changes are observable. Segments created for analysis should have fewer than 100,000 accounts for best performance reporting - **Complex filters**: If a filter contains more than 100 values, split the values across smaller segments and combine them using the [**Accounts in Segment** filter](/v1/docs/segment-filter-catalog). - **Uploads**: When uploading a list to [create a segment](/v1/docs/segments-overview-new#upload-a-csv-file), the file must be less than 4MB and include fewer than 100,000 records. - **Advertising**: Treat segment size as one input to CPM recommendations, alongside geography, daily spend, campaign strategy, and goals. - **Workflows**: For workflows, start with a segment that's fairly static (such as a firmographic ICP), and configure behavioral filters in the workflow itself.
