# AIE Automation Rules Overview

AI Email (AIE) has automation rules (formerly called “workflows”) that automate manual tasks that perform various actions triggered by a selected event for objects such as conversations, leads, accounts, or campaigns.

To create an automation rule, refer to [Create an Automation Rule in AIE](/v1/docs/create-an-automation-rule-in-ce).

There is one default automation rule, **Pause account conversations**. Refer to [Pause Account Conversations Automation Rule](/v1/docs/ce-pause-account-conversations-automation-rule).
