When the lead is qualified by the AI email agent, AIE will carbon-copy (CC) the lead owner’s email address in the conversation, skipping the [round-robin process](/v1/docs/round-robin-qualified-contacts-to-your-sales-reps-in-ce). Mappings under Lead Owner are in the Salesforce integration field mapping settings: ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/0e2cd0a2-b3b3-495b-80df-96f8381febea/Images/Documentation/9982669458579-mceclip3-3-1024x266.png) In the AI Email lead settings, select the lead to see if the lead owner was automatically assigned by Salesforce: ![mceclip4.png](https://cdn.us.document360.io/0e2cd0a2-b3b3-495b-80df-96f8381febea/Images/Documentation/9982813164819-mceclip4.png) ## Map the custom lead owner field in Salesforce to AIE If you are not using Salesforce Lead or Contact Owner default fields to track the owner of the leads, you can map custom fields to the AIE lead owner. For example, if your company has an SDR/BDR team and creates a custom field in Salesforce, such as “SDR owner,” you can map “SDR owner” in Salesforce to AIE lead owner. - Two types of lead owner mapping are currently supported: Reference field type [using lookup search](https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=search_lookups_how_works.htm&type=0) and [email field.](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.custom_field_types.htm&type=5) - We recommend you use the lookup field to return the exact email address from the Salesforce user record. ### Map a custom lead owner field in Salesforce to AIE 1. For the lead owner, select **Edit**. ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/0e2cd0a2-b3b3-495b-80df-96f8381febea/Images/Documentation/9982669458579-mceclip3-1-1024x423.png) 2. Choose the custom field, for example SDR owner, that contains the email address of the lead owner in Salesforce that you want to map to AIE. ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/0e2cd0a2-b3b3-495b-80df-96f8381febea/Images/Documentation/9982863358867-mceclip6-1024x617.png) 3. If the field is a lookup field, you will see a second dropdown for the actual field that will return the email address. Select the secondary field name, for example, “Email”. 4. If the field selected is an [email field](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.custom_field_types.htm&type=5), you won’t need to select a secondary field. ## Considerations - Only fields that return email address values can be mapped to the Lead Owner Email field in AIE. If you select an unsupported field type, you will see an error displayed in the mapping panel. - If you change a lead’s owner in Salesforce, it will not automatically update in AIE for the records. - If you use the Salesforce app to assign owners, you won’t be able to manually change the owners in AIE.
