The standard Microsoft Copilot product is not supported for this integration. ## Before you begin Before you set up MCP: - You must have access to a 6sense account. - Your organization must have access to the **Revenue Marketing Platform.** - Each user must authorize access individually. - Admin rights in your AI agent platform, if your organization requires an administrator to register connectors. ## Authorization Authorization is required when you connect to the 6sense MCP server. ### **How authorization works** - If you are not signed in, you are prompted to log in to 6sense - If you are already signed in, you are shown a permissions screen - You must select Allow access to complete the connection > [!WARNING] > Important > > - Authorization is required per user > - Each user must authorize access individually > - Authorization is required even if advanced settings are used ## Step-by-step procedure To connect the 6sense MCP server in Copilot Studio, add the MCP server to your agent using the MCP onboarding wizard. ### Add the MCP server to your agent 1. Open your agent in Copilot Studio 2. Go to the **Tools** page 3. Select **Add a tool** 4. Select **New tool** 5. Select **Model Context Protocol** The MCP onboarding wizard opens. ### Configure the MCP server 1. Enter the required details: 1. Server name. For example, 6sense MCP 2. Server description. 3. Server URL. Your 6sense MCP endpoint **https://api.6sense.com/mcp.** 2. Select the authentication type as OAuth 2.0 3. If you are not signed in, you are prompted to log in to 6sense 4. If you are already signed in, you are shown a permissions screen 5. You must select **Allow access** to complete the connection ### Create the connection 1. Select Create 2. Create a new connection or use an existing connection 3. Select Add to agent to complete setup ### Use the MCP server After adding the server: - MCP tools provided by the server are available to your agent - The agent can call these tools when answering user queries For more details, see [Microsoft Copilot documentation](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-copilot-studio/mcp-add-existing-server-to-agent). ## Troubleshooting ### Reconnect the MCP server If your MCP connection is lost or marked as **stale**, you must reconnect the server before using it. **Symptoms** You may see one of the following: - The connection status shows **Stale** - The MCP server is listed under **Manage connections** with an error - Queries do not return results **Reconnect the MCP server** 1. Open **Manage connections** 2. Locate the **6sense MCP** connection 3. Select **Reconnect** **Complete authentication** After selecting **Reconnect**: 1. You are redirected to the 6sense sign-in page 2. Enter your 6sense credentials 3. Select **Continue** If you are already signed in, you may see a permissions screen instead. 1. Select **Allow access** to authorize the connection **Finalize the connection** 1. Return to the connection dialog 2. Select the **6sense MCP** connection 3. Select **Submit** **Verify the connection** After connecting the 6sense MCP server, ask a question that requires 6sense data. For example, “Using 6sense, what is the current buying stage and top intent keywords for salesforce.com?” If the connection works, your AI assistant: - The AI assistant invokes a 6sense tool. - The response includes 6sense account data. - Information such as buying stage, intent topics, or account details is returned. If the connection doesn’t work, your AI assistant: - Provides only general knowledge responses - Indicates that no tool is available - Cannot retrieve 6sense data To troubleshoot the issue, verify that: - The connector has been added. - The connection has been authorized. - The connector is enabled for the conversation or agent. ### Unauthorized error (401) when opening the MCP URL in a browser **Symptoms** When you open the 6sense MCP server URL directly in a browser, you see an error similar to: `Your API token is invalid or auth token is invalid or missing authorization header`. You may also see a 401 Unauthorized error. **Cause** This behavior is expected. The 6sense MCP server is not intended to be accessed directly through a web browser. MCP connections are initiated and authenticated through a supported AI assistant, such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot Studio. When you navigate to the MCP endpoint directly, the request does not contain the required authentication information, and the MCP server returns a 401 Unauthorized response. **Resolution** Do not open the MCP server URL directly in a browser. Instead: 1. Add the 6sense MCP server in your AI assistant. 2. Complete the authentication and authorization process. 3. Use the AI assistant to access 6sense data through MCP.
