FAQ: CRM and MAP Integrations

Prev Next

The following FAQ answers common questions about integrating 6sense with CRM/MAP platforms.

API Limits and Usage

Q: Why did I receive an alert indicating that we have reached the API limits for the CRM/MAP integration?

A: The 6sense platform syncs your CRM/MAP data based on the API limit provided in the 6sense integration UI. If the number of records being updated exceeds the API limits specified for any given day, we might hit the API limit on that day.

Q: What should be done when 6sense hits the API limit?

A: No action is required from the integration user side. 6sense will automatically resume data syncing on the next day from where it stopped. If you observe that 6sense is hitting the API limit daily due to your large updated data, you can increase the API limits in the integration UI so that 6sense can sync more data.

Q: What is the recommended API limit that we should set?

A: API limit configuration depends on how much data is updated in your CRM/MAP platform. During onboarding, it is recommended to provide a higher API limit so that historical data can be synced at a faster rate. However, after onboarding, you can set the API limit to the recommended level or higher based on your data volume.

Q: What are the consequences of hitting your API limit daily?

A: If the API limits are not set at the prescribed limit or if 6sense is hitting the API limit daily, it means that your CRM/MAP contains more data than the set limit, which impacts all 6sense features. For example:

  1. All 6sense dashboards would display outdated data, as none of the latest activities or events of your prospects/customers are considered in the dashboard.

  2. 6sense segments would also contain outdated data.

  3. 6sense scores would be inaccurate since the 6sense models would be running on outdated data.

  4. 6sense Ads and other features would also be affected, as the segments would contain outdated data.

Q: Once API limits are set, can we change them later?

A: Yes, you can change the API limits anytime in the Integration UI.

Q: If we set a very high API limit, will 6sense will consume all the API limits?

A: No, 6sense will only consume the API limit based on your latest updated data.

Q: After the data sync, if we increase the API limit will the updated API limit be considered, and will 6sense sync the missing data?

A: No, if the user updates the API limits after the pipeline completes, then the updated API limit is considered for the next day’s daily data sync.

Data Sync

Q: What time does data sync from our CRM/MAP to the 6sense platform? Can we configure the sync time interval?

A: No, we cannot change the sync time interval, and it occurs at 0 UTC, which is 5 PM PST.

Q: What are the necessary steps that one has to take before changing the integration user in the CRM/MAP platform?

A: The new/updated user should have the permissions to all the synced objects so that 6sense will resume syncing from where it had paused before. If you have Orchestrations, review them to make sure the integration user has create/edit permissions to objects referenced in the Orchestration.

Q: Do you allow custom data pulls? Can we set specific times or days for data pulls?

A: No, custom time data pulls are not allowed. Non-daily data pulls result in a non-daily pipeline. This means your 6sense account dashboards and scores won’t be updated daily, so this is highly discouraged.

Q: Is a new or dedicated integration user required?

A: This is not a mandatory requirement, but we recommend using a dedicated integration user so that you can manage permission sets. Additionally, if there are any orchestration or data Enrichment use cases, executing them with the 6sense integration user will make tracking easier.

Deactivation

Q: Can we deactivate the integration self-serve on the integration UI?

A: No, you must contact support to deactivate integrations.
