This feature will be made available in a phased rollout between November 10th, 2025 and November 30th, 2025 to all customers.
The Inactivity Timeout Policy allows organization admins to control how long users can remain signed in to the 6sense application when inactive. This policy helps maintain secure access while reducing disruptions for organizations who may need longer sessions.
By default, sessions in the 6sense application time out after 2 hours of inactivity. With this new setting, you can adjust the timeout period based on your organization's security and productivity needs.
A session timeout happens when a user is automatically signed out of the 6sense application after being inactive for a set amount of time.
A user is considered inactive if they haven’t:
Clicked or typed in the application.
Scrolled or moved the mouse.
Switched pages within the app.
Even if the application is open in a browser tab, if the user isn't actively using it, the system will start the inactivity countdown.
Benefits of this feature include:
Better security: Automatically sign users out after short periods of inactivity.
Fewer disruptions: Allow longer sessions for teams with focused workflows.
Align with internal security policies or compliance requirements.

FAQ
Can I set different timeouts for different users or groups of users?
Not at this time. The same inactivity timeout policy applies to all users in your organization.
What happens when a session times out?
The user is signed out and will need to log in again to continue working.
Will users get a warning before their session times out?
Yes. The 6sense application will show a warning message approximately 5 minutes before the session is set to expire due to inactivity. This gives users a chance to stay signed in by interacting with the app (such as clicking, typing, or moving the mouse).
If there's no activity after the warning, the user will be automatically signed out.
Is there an audit log for tracking who changed the setting?
Yes, this is available in Settings > Security and Compliance > Audit logs.
