Integrate Sales Intelligence with Salesforce CRM

Prev Next

The 6sense Sales Intelligence (SI) application is compatible with Salesforce Enterprise, Professional, Unlimited, and Performance Editions.

  • The 6sense Sales Intelligence application creates additional objects and tabs within SFDC. The created objects do not count against Salesforce org limits.

  • The application has been optimized for Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience.

  • For integration with the Professional edition, 6sense customers need to purchase the API access add-on from Salesforce.

Integrate with Salesforce CRM

  1. Navigate to Settings and select the Integrations tile.

  2. Select Salesforce when presented with the list of supported CRM integrations.

  3. Select Connect and then select Sign in with Salesforce credentials.

  4. Select Next.

  5. Enter Rest API limits and select Save & Next.

  6. Flip the Data sync flag to the ON state. Select Finish to complete the setup.

Preparation for Installation

The installation and configuration of the 6sense application will take approximately 30 minutes. Prior to the installation, the following steps must be taken within 6sense by a Salesforce user with admin access:

SI API Token

  1. Get your API Token.

    • Once the SI API Token is generated, the SI admin will find the same under the “Other API Tokens” in the settings > Integration Settings > API token Management page.

    • Note that this token is not related to the Company Identification API Token.

  2. Select the Settings icon on the right top corner of your Sales Intelligence platform. This will open a new tab and load the ABM platform.

  3. Next, select Integrations.

  4. Next, select the API Token option available in the My Integrations or All Integrations tabs.

  5. Select the Generate New API Token.

Install the Application

The following steps are required to install the Sales Intelligence extension within Salesforce CRM:

  1. Navigate to 6sense Sales Intelligence AppExchange page.

  2. Select the Get It Now button and choose the option to log into the AppExchange.

  3. Select Install in the SFDC environment of your choice.

  4. Read the terms and conditions, and if acceptable, select Confirm and Install.

  5. When you reach the Upgrade 6sense Sales Intelligence page, select Install for All Users.

It is recommended that the package be installed for profiles which are assigned to 6sense registered users.

On completion of the package installation, the profiles that were mapped will have the 6sense custom profile permissions assigned to them.

This installation will take approximately 15 – 20 minutes. Upon completion, an email notification is sent to the SFDC admin installing the application, and it will be visible within Installed Packages.

6sense Sales Intelligence Configuration

After installing the application there are three main setup steps that must be completed by the SFDC Admin.

1. Enter SI API token

  • After the app is installed, select the App Launcher icon in your Salesforce application and navigate to the 6sense Admin page within your Salesforce.

  • Enter and save the 6sense SI API token (follow steps outlined in the “Preparation for Installation” section above).

2. 6sense Sales Intelligence User Permission Setup

  • You will assign the 6sense user permission to the SFDC users based on the number of user licenses purchased. This will be the same list of users assigned a 6sense Sales Intelligence License within the 6sense product.

  • The 6sense application offers two Permission Sets to perform specific tasks based on specific features of the application. The Application creates additional user types that are not relevant to the Sales Intelligence product and can be ignored.

6sense Admin Permission Set

  • Allows users full access to configure and use the 6sense application.

  • Allows users to access the Sales Intelligence extension.

  • 6sense Admins will also need to be assigned to the 6sense user permission set to validate and QA set up.

6sense User Permission Set

  • Allows users to access the Sales Intelligence extension which will be installed on the account and/or lead object in the next step. It also grants access to view the ‘6sense Dashboards’ tab that is created upon installation.

  • 6sense users from SFDC are required to have a license in the 6sense Platform with user type equal to Sales Intelligence.

3. Configure the Sales Intelligence Visual Force Object on Accounts & Leads

The Sales Intelligence user interfaces can currently be deployed to the Account and Lead objects within Salesforce. The steps mentioned below for the Account object need to be done for the Lead object if desired.

Salesforce Lightning Experience Setup

  1. Select the Set Up button in the top right corner of any Account record within your Salesforce org. Select Edit Page in the dropdown to open the Lightning App Builder.

  2. Highlight the Tabs section by selecting the tab area. This brings up the Pages > Tabs section.

  3. Select the Add Tab button.

  4. Selecting the Add Tab button creates a new tab labeled Details. Select the Details tab. This will open a dialog box where you can configure the tab.

  5. In the dialog box, set the Tab Label to Custom and the Custom Label to 6sense. Then select Done.

  6. Select the newly created 6sense tab, and search for the component named Sales Intelligence in the Components section of the Lightning App Builder interface.

  7. Drag the Sales Intelligence Component in the blank space under the newly created 6sense tab. We recommend placing the component in a region with maximum width for usability purposes.

  8. Finish the configuration by selecting Save.
