Keyword Recommendations FAQ

Q: How do I access keyword recommendations?

A: Select Settings in the left navigation, then click Keywords in the Data Settings section. In the 6sense Intent Keywords tab, the Recommended Keywords button appears next to the number of configured keywords being tracked.

When you click Recommended Keywords, the first screen shown in the dialog box displays how many and which specific keywords 6sense recommends that you might add to your configuration.

If you check any displayed keywords and Add Keywords, the next screen allows you to choose which product category you want to apply those keywords to (if you have an advanced package) and select whether you are including these keywords as new branded or generic keywords.

For bulk review and addition of recommended keywords, click the Download Recommended Keywords button to download a CSV file with all the recommended keywords displayed. You can use this file to add keywords in bulk by copying and pasting all of the listed keywords (each on its own line).

If you add new keywords, their history may take up to 24 hours to be populated.

Q: How does 6sense identify keywords to recommend?

A: 6sense uses a machine learning model to identify words with a high degree of similarity to the collection of words that you have already entered into the platform. At the highest level, what this means is that we are able to predict words that are very likely to be similar in meaning to the ones you have already selected. This means that our recommendations will improve as you curate the list of keywords that you have entered into the platform and home in on what drives results for your business.

Q: Is there a minimum number of keywords required for the keyword recommendation tool to make recommendations?

A: Instead of requiring a specific minimum number of keywords, we instead only offer a recommendation if we have high enough confidence that is relevant to your product. Recommendations can appear after entering just a couple of keywords. Sometimes you may need to add 5 to 10 or so before the system can identify any recommendations with high confidence.

Q: Can I see recommendations for a specific subset of keywords?

A: No, 6sense can only provide recommendations based on the entire set of keywords currently added for a product category. If this is something you would like to see, please enter a feature request. If there is enough interest expressed, we might expand this functionality.

Q: Can I hide or delete any of the recommended keywords?

A: Hiding or deleting recommended keywords is not supported at this time. If a keyword is currently recommended, it is because it is commonly associated with a subset of your existing keywords. If you feel that a recommended keyword is not relevant, it may naturally stop being recommended in the future as you update your existing keyword configurations.

Q: Does 6sense accept keywords in non-English languages?

A: The 6sense platform accepts keywords in all languages that consist of single- and double-byte characters. (Examples of double-byte character languages include Japanese and Chinese.)

The 6sense B2B network consists of intent signals from all regions of the globe, but the vast majority of web events are on English language websites. To maximize potential coverage, 6sense recommends that you enter both the English version and other relevant language versions of a keyword. It is fairly common to see English language keyword signals coming from international regions.
