A mapping profile represents a saved set of mappings between a 6sense Field (for example, Industry, Revenue Range, Country, and so on) and a field in your CRM or MAP.
You will need a mapping profile for the following use cases:
Export 6sense Predictive Scores to existing Account, Lead, or Contact objects in your CRM/MAP.
Enrich existing records with firmographic data.
Purchase new contacts and then create them in CRM or MAP.
Add existing Leads or Contacts into a CRM or MAP Campaign.
Enriching existing Account, Lead and MAP objects with Published segment names.
Matching Leads to Accounts in Salesforce.
Matching Contacts to Accounts in Salesforce.
Create new Accounts in Salesforce.
Mapping Profiles are unique to each Object (CRM Account, CRM Contact, CRM Lead, MAP Lead) as well as the production or sandbox environment.
To allow 6sense write access to the objects and the associated fields you wish to update, you must provide 6sense with write access to the fields associated with the objects (in other words, Salesforce Accounts, Contacts, and Leads objects).
The exception to this is the Email field for Leads and Contacts. This field needs a minimum of Read Only; Read/Write is not required.
This is necessary for us to be able to write scores to relevant records within your CRM/MAP.
The following information is required to save a mapping profile:
Lead Mapping Profile: Requires Email, Last Name, and Company (Read/Write is required) in order to save.
Contact Mapping Profile: Requires Email (Read/Write is required) in order to save.
Account: No requirements in order to save.
Create a Mapping Profile
Go to Settings in the 6sense ABM Platform.
Click Orchestration Mapping Profiles under the settings icon, next to Orchestration (under App Settings).
Click New.
Select the object (CRM Account, CRM Contact, CRM Lead, MAP Lead).
Select the environment (for CRM objects only — MAP sandbox is currently not supported).
Give your mapping profile a custom name, or leave it blank and let the system create one for you.
Optional: Set as default mapping profile. Only one mapping profile can be set as default per object and per system.
Configure 6sense Values to the system fields via the dropdown. You can toggle between Enrichment mappings and other mappings via the tabs.
Click Save.
Throughout the platform, whenever you need to augment your CRM/MAP data with 6sense data, the mapping profile will dictate what 6sense values are mapped to the fields in your CRM/MAP, allowing you to create customized workflows and orchestrate your ABM strategy.
IMPORTANT: Review your mappings before saving.

Q: Can I use the same mapping profile for multiple use cases — for example, firmographic data enrichment and purchasing new contacts?
A: Yes. You will typically only have one mapping profile per System Object (Salesforce Account, Salesforce Lead, Salesforce Contact, MAP Lead). That mapping profile can then be leveraged during any of the supported orchestration use cases enabled through 6sense. Keep in mind that not all fields in the mapping profile are relevant to every use case, so some of the mappings may be ignored depending on the context — for example, a contact’s email data will only be filled in when purchasing contact information, but the mapping for the email field would be ignored during a Contact Enrichment Orchestration.
Q: Do I need to set up mapping profiles if my team is not planning to acquire new contacts? What if we only intend to add existing CRM or MAP leads to a campaign in the respective system?
A: Even if you only intend to add existing contacts to a campaign, you will need a mapping profile for that object type. At minimum, you’ll need to make sure you map the appropriate field for the record’s Email. As long as a default mapping profile is set for the existing object type you wish to add to a campaign in that same system, and that mapping profile contains a mapping for Email, then the Push Audience SmartPlay types will be able to correctly identify the records you intend to operate on.
If you intend to acquire new contacts as well, then you’ll already be including a mapping for Email in your main mapping profile for each object type, so you would not need to do anything special for the “add existing contacts” use case, other than ensuring the mapping profile is configured as a default.
Q: What is the Custom Text option within the available 6sense Fields?
A: This option allows you to add your own text as a value to be mapped. For instance, a common use case is to update the Lead Source field when acquiring a new lead, so you may want to add custom text indicating that you purchased the record from 6sense. If this is configured, then any records that are purchased and pushed into Salesforce using this mapping profile will have the LeadSource field populated with Acquired through 6sense.
Q: Who can access and edit mapping profiles?
A: Any user who has access to your organization’s Settings page within the 6sense Account Engagement Platform will be able to view and/or modify these mappings. Currently, the owner and all users can access Settings, but limited users cannot.
Q: Why are my dropdowns blank in my mapping profile?
A: 6sense does not have the correct permissions on the field/object level. Grant 6sense write access to the objects and the associated fields you wish to update, you must provide 6sense with write access to the fields associated with the objects (in other words, Salesforce Accounts, Contacts, and Leads objects). This is necessary for us to be able to write scores to relevant records within your CRM/MAP.
Q: What information is shown when using the State/Region 6sense field?
A: The State/Region field will pull the state where the account’s headquarter is located in the country associated with the unique account.
