You can set up automated workflows to reach out to contacts from your CRM with conversation plays, use human-assisted AI to qualify them, engage them in two-way email conversations, send more information if needed, and pass on interested contacts to your sales team.

AI email agents
AIE integrates with email providers to set up dedicated email accounts. An email account connects with a AIE AI email agent (formerly called “AI assistant”). AI email agents handle the email processing for your email campaigns.

Interest qualification
You can configure AIE such that the moment a contact is interested in speaking to a sales rep, your designated sales rep will be added to the email thread. AIE considers a conversation qualified when the reply indicates meaningful engagement. Behind the scenes, two general types of emails are used to determine qualification:
- Meeting/Call Request - When a lead or contact explicitly requests a phone call, video meeting, or product demo. 
 
- General Positive Interest - When a lead or contact expresses openness to learning more without committing to next steps. Examples include: - We’re interested 
- This looks good 
- Could work for us 
- Send more details 
 
 
Automated follow up
You can set parameters for your AI email agent to reach out to your contacts with pre-set campaigns to get conversations going. At your option, you can schedule automated responses to contacts that do not respond, at any point after a certain number of days, for as many touch-points as you deem necessary.
Referral handling
You can set up a workflow for automatic referral options and responses. For example, if a contact replies to your AI email agent that they are not the correct person to have a discussion with, AIE can identify and flag the reply to automatically deliver a response that requests to be referred to the right person. After getting the referral, the workflow can pick up the conversation with the newly referred contact.
Out-of-office detection
If a contact is on vacation or medical leave, and an out-of-office reply is detected, AIE can determine the date the contact will be back at the office and schedule a new follow-up date.
DNC detection
You can set up your AI email agent to end conversations with contacts that express disinterest in your product, or wish never to be contacted again. Refer to Manage Do Not Contact Status.
If AIE is integrated with a Salesforce instance, then do not contact (DNC) requests can be synced between AIE and Salesforce.
Data collection
If new contact information surfaces during the conversation, such as a new phone number, your AI email agent will be automatically updated.
Date format recognition
AIE can interpret common date formats in out-of-office (OOO) replies, including MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY, and YYYY/MM/DD. Each date is parsed independently. If the format is ambiguous (for example, 07/09/2025), the system assumes the US format and interprets it as July 9, 2025. When the format clearly indicates a UK style (such as 13/4/2025), it will parse as 13 April 2025. In general, if the day is 12 or lower, the system defaults to US format
