AI Email (AIE) has specific administrative requirements before Marketing Users can create and launch email campaigns.
This page lists the high-level administrative steps for setting up AIE, also part of the AIE “onboarding” process. The steps link to more in-depth instructions.
We strongly recommend that you review our Best Practices.
The high-level steps for the administrative setup for CE include:
Add AIE team users.
Integrate your CRM.
Set up an email provider, email user account, and AI email agent.
Integrate with the 6sense Platform.
Add sales reps.
After AIE is set up, you can start creating campaigns. Refer to Create a Campaign in AI Email.
Step 1: Add users
The 6sense Primary Administrator adds users and assigns them AIE Administrator and Marketing User roles.
Refer to Add and Remove CE Team Members.
Step 2: Integrate your CRM
Integrating with a CRM allows 6sense to automate contact enrollment and data syncs with your CRM reports or lists, saving your team valuable time. 6sense also passes important data points, such as statuses, bounces, and do not contact statuses (DNCs) back into your CRM.
To setup your CRM integration for AIE, go to Settings > Integrations, then follow the instructions below for your CRM:
Step 3: Set up an email provider, email user account, and AI email agent
AIE uses real email addresses, associated with AIE AI email agents, to send and receive emails on behalf of your team. Each AI email agent connects with an email account on your email provider. You can have one or more email accounts/AI email agents, depending on how you want to manage your campaigns. (“AI email agents” were formerly called “AI Assistants” and “AI inboxes”.)
You can either use the 6sense email provider, or Gmail, or Outlook 365.
For 6sense, refer to Set Up the 6sense Email Provider.
For Gmail or Outlook 365, refer to Set Up a Gmail or Outlook Email Provider for AIE and Set Up Your AI Email AI Email Agent.
If you use Gmail, we recommend that you set up Google Postmaster Tools (optional). Refer to Google Postmaster Tools Integration.
Set up email warmup
Email warmup is the gradual process of building a positive sender reputation for a new AIE email account by slowly increasing the number of emails sent. By starting a campaign with smaller volumes, the warm-up process helps prevent your emails from being marked as spam by Email Service Providers (ESPs) and Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Refer to Email Warmup in AI Email.
Step 4: Integrate with the 6sense Platform
Integration with the 6sense platform provides access to 6sense keywords that help generate emails using the AI email writer. For integration instructions, refer to Integrate 6sense with AIE.
Step 5: Add sales reps
When your AI email agent sets a meeting with a contact, it can carbon-copy (CC) a sales rep on the invitation. This adds the specified user to the conversation so that they can join in as needed to clarify on notes or suggest alternative meeting times. You need at least one sales rep in the system.
To add sales reps, go to Settings > Sales team > Sales team settings. For instructions, refer to Manage Sales Reps for AI Email.
Start creating campaigns
After AIE is set up, Marketing Users can start creating campaigns. Refer to Create a Campaign in AI Email.
Tip: AIE has an automation rule template that tracks the CRM fields mapped to AIE and automatically pauses conversations when a field changes. You can optionally set up other types of automation rules. Refer to Create an Automation Rule in AIE.
