Manage Do Not Contact Status in AI Email

Prev Next

In AI Email (AIE), contacts can reply to an email with a clear indication that they do not want to be contacted again in the future. They may request to be removed from the mailing list, and/or indicate that they do not want to receive any more emails in the future. Your AI email agent automatically marks them as “do not contact” (DNC).

We recommend that you configure the signature on the inbox associated with the AI email agent to include information about how to unsubscribe from further emails.

After a contact is marked as DNC:

  • Any emails that you’ve scheduled to send are immediately stopped and cancelled.

  • Any pending human review is automatically completed and marked as “not interested”.

  • Any attempted, future correspondence to this contact will be blocked during the enrollment process.

Manually tag DNC contacts

You can also manually mark specific contacts as DNC.

To do so, navigate to the specific contact by searching for their email in the contacts page. From the contact’s details page, select Actions > Mark as do not contact.

CE marks the contact will be marked as DNC:

Tip: There is no option to remove a DNC status. If you wish to remove the DNC status for certain contacts, submit a support ticket.

Locate and export DNC contacts

From the contacts page, you can filter contacts with the DNC status.

You can then select all contacts, and then use Actions > Export selected leads.

In the CSV file, the DNC status is reflected in the “tags” column, which shows “do_not_contact”.
