A segment is active if it meets any of the below criteria:

  • It is used in activations (6sense ads, segment syncs, workflows, alerts, reports, publish segments, etc)

  • It has another active segment using this segment as one of its filters.

  • It has been edited in the last 30 days.

  • It has another active segment using this segment as one of its filters.

External lists management (uploaded CSV, synced CRM list and report)

Old Version

New Version

Uploaded CSV and synced CRM are considered types of segments that live within the segment list.

  • Uploaded CSV and synced CRM lists and reports are no longer considered Segments. They are now classified as External Lists in their own table under the External List tab.

  • 6sense now always shows the latest Match Rate for external lists.

  • External Lists can no longer be directly used in activations (ads, segment syncs, etc). External Lists need to be used to create a segment through the corresponding segment filters first to be used in activations. There are easy and integrated flow to support this action. This added step will allow users to use external lists with filters together easily, and support easy updates to the segments in the future.

User permissions

New Version

  • All users with edit permission to segments can edit and delete any segments.

  • Non-Admin users can no longer edit, archive or delete segments created by other users.

  • Creators of segments can edit, archive, or delete their own segments.
