Primary Administrators and Administrators can set up your organization’s keywords used by 6sense to track intent activity. Keywords are often phrases, not singular words. 6sense uses two types (categories) of keywords:
Branded keywords are closely related to your own product or your competitor’s product. These get special weight in 6sense’s AI models and help track when prospects show intent specific to your brand. We recommend including your brand and branded terms, branded products and services, competitor names and their branded offerings, key partners, and branded events.
Generic keywords have a broader scope, focusing on general needs or pain points that aren’t attached to a specific brand. They help catch earlier-stage interest around solutions related to your brand. We recommend including buyer pain points, unique solutions, and industry-related terminology.
Each keyword can only be designated as either branded or generic, not both. You can switch a keyword’s type in 6sense as needed; refer to Add Keywords.
Keywords apply on a 6sense Predictive product category level. If your 6sense environment has the Predictive add-on and multiple product categories are available, you add keywords to each category. You cannot add keywords to multiple categories at the same time. Also, you can add or move keywords between product categories; refer to Add Keywords.
How to organize keyword lists before adding them to 6sense
Before you add them to the system, we recommend that you create multiple keyword lists:
One list per Predictive model, if you have more than one.
Per one model, two lists:
branded
generic
How to decide what keywords to use
To help you with selecting keywords, refer to Best Practices for Selecting and Adding Keywords.
Keywords in multiple languages
6sense accepts keywords in all languages that consist of single- and double-byte characters. Examples of double-byte character languages include Japanese and Chinese.
The 6sense B2B network consists of intent indicators from all regions of the globe, but the vast majority of web events are on English language websites. To maximize potential coverage, 6sense recommends that you enter both the English version and other relevant language versions of a keyword. It is fairly common to see English language keyword indicators coming from international regions.
