Q: How do I navigate to the Ads Library?
A: The Ads Library is located in the second tab of the Campaigns Dashboard.
Q: Why am I not able to upload the ads?
A: We accept only specific ad sizes. If they do not match with any of the size/dimension mentioned on the Ads creation page then you need to modify the creative to comply with the requirements.
Q: Can we target only viewable inventory in a campaign?
A: Yes, please reach out to your CSM with a list of desired inventory/domains you want to serve a campaign to and 6sense campaign operations team will do the targeting for you.
Q: Why is my Creative Audit failed with a reason “Creative does not display properly”?
A: If the creative gives a blank preview likely due to frequency issues, Geo-targeting issues or caching issues at the time of Audit, it will not pass the audit. It is advisable to remove the frequency capping / Geotargeting till the creative is approved. You can always add this targeting after a creative is approved.
Q: Why is my Creative Audit failed with a reason “Creative does not click-through properly”?
A: If a creative does not redirect to the landing page upon clicking, it is likely to be failed in the audit. All creatives should redirect to a working landing page. The Landing page should be fully functional i.e. it should not be an invalid page. Examples of invalid page include different brand than the creative, it should not open in the same window and should not prompt new tab or window to open.
Q: Why I am not able to submit an HTML5 ad?
A: If your HTML5 ads do not comply to the any of the following conditions, then 6sense won’t accept your HTML5 Ad:
The HTML file should be named as an index with .html extension.
The zip folder should not contain more than one index.html file.
index.html must reside in the root of the zip file, not in a subfolder.
index.html should be a complete and valid HTML document (including the entities <html> <head> <body>), not an HTML fragment.
All external resources must be secure (https)
HTML5 creative should be clickable i.e. the index.html file should be clickable and should redirect to the correct landing page upon clicking.
Q: How do I preview the HTML5 ad on UI?
A: You will not be able to preview the HTML5 creative from the ABM platform as of now. However, as a work-around please follow the below steps to preview the creative in the web browser on your local machine.
Download the HTML5 creative from the Ads tab.
Extract the files and you will see an index.html file.
Double click on it and you should be able to see the creative preview on the browser.
To confirm the click functionality, click on the creative and it should redirect to the ‘Null’ page. This confirms that the setup of HTML5 is working fine.
Q: Does 6sense support GIFs?
A: Yes, only Native Ad type accepts GIF format files. Choose the .gif file format option when in the Create Native Ad experience.
Q: What is checked during ad audit?
A: Creative assets are examined before they are considered appropriate and eligible for being placed on a publisher ad property. Creatives are validated against certain criteria before being passed.
Appropriate brand notification – Its important for a creative to have a distinct brand name. The branding on the ad creative and the corresponding landing page should always match.
Display – If the creative does not display at all or display intermittently, the creative cannot be audited and hence will be rendered ‘audit failed’.
Click-through – The creative should click through properly and open into an active landing page url that contains legit content loads without any errors on the page.
New Window – When the ad creative is clicked upon, the landing page should open into a new window and never load into the same window or the creative frame.
Illicit content – Refrain from advertising any banned or illicit content on the creative or the landing page. Example: Content related to drugs, weapons, ammunition, explosives etc. Any offensive content on bullying, racial discrimination, hatred groups, cruelty to animals etc.
Q: Are there performance implications to adding too many ad creatives to one ad group?
A: There are no performance implications to adding multiple ad creatives to a single ad group.
Q: Can I run A/B tests on ad creatives on the platform?
A: It is possible to run A/B tests with some creative use of campaigns. Here are some best practices you should follow to run creative A/B tests on the 6sense platform:
Run a single campaign against one segment with two ad groups for varying content/creative/messaging both with the same ad unit size mix. This means that Group A should have the same number and size of ads as Group B. 6sense is designed to automatically balance across same-sized ad units in a round robin motion, creating a measured A/B test.
Example: Campaign 1:
Ad Group A – “We are the best!” message.
Ad Group B – “See why we’re better!” message.
A/B tests generally require volume and time to really play out well. This means the customer needs to invest enough to get decent impression volume (2000 impressions is weak) ideally across a large enough audience (impression caps help with this), otherwise you may not have significant variance in the content exposure to really draw conclusions.
Stick to standard metrics (like Impressions, Clicks, CTR, VTR etc) for comparison. Account level metrics will not be helpful as the impressions are being distributed between accounts.
Q: Can 6sense do above the fold targeting and viewability targeting?
A: Yes, 6sense can help with special targeting requests from our customers. Targeting based on fold position and viewability score is currently not available on the platform, however our Campaign Operations team can help with the setup from backend. It’s important to highlight that adding more targeting restrictions can significantly limit the reach of your (already hyper-targeted) campaign.
Q: Which ad sizes are allowed?
A: Ad sizes vary based on the type of Ad. The Ad creation page in the Ad library includes the list of permissible ad sizes for each Ad type.
Q: How does 6sense track video ads?
A: 6sense tracks pre-roll, mid-roll,, and post-roll ads for videos.
Pre-roll: Ad before a video.
Mid-roll: Ad in the middle of a video.
Post-roll: Ad after a video.
Q: How can I edit and configure the URL for the ad?
A: Using the Click URL Builder during ad creation allows you to build dynamic clickthrough URLs for campaigns. This allows customers to choose source, medium, campaign, term, and content, then generate a URL that can be applied to all ads in their campaign.
When creating a new ad, enter a base URL in the “Click URL” field, and click the button beside the URL to open the Click URL Builder.
In the URL Builder (displayed below) enter the details you want to include in your URL, including:
UTM Source (required): Identifies the sub-channel that is the source of your traffic by answering the question: “where is this person coming from?” Typically Source refers to the platform being used within a specific channel.
UTM Medium (required): Identifies the vehicles you are using to market your company by answering the question: “how are they getting to you?” Typically Medium is the highest level channel.
UTM Campaign (required): Used to identify a specific marketing campaign by answering the question: “why are they coming to you?”.
UTM Term: Used to identify a specific marketing campaign by answering the question: “why are they coming to you?”
UTM Content: Used to track more than one marketing piece existing on a single web page.
