Use case for the AI Writer

We all know how to send emails to leads; the new challenge is figuring out how to receive a response from email recipients. With so many emails taking up space in a lead’s inbox, how can we reach out to them in a more meaningful way and ensure our message is heard?

Writing sales outreach emails to inbound leads has always been the job of BDRs and the sales team. There’s a lot to consider when sending a proper outreach email: subject lines, send times, call to action, value propositions, catchy questions, email length, etc.

The AI Writer provides AI assistance to write better emails that solicit responses from your leads.

Prerequisites

Train the AI Writer with content samples

The AI Writer can match your company’s tone and include relevant points to keep your emails effective and on-brand. You upload your existing marketing and sales content, and AI Writer learns from them.

Update your company information

The AI Writer uses GPT-4 and your company information to generate contextual emails based on your company. You can update your company information to provide more accurate and contextual emails instead of generic template emails.

  1. In CE, go to AI Writer.

  2. Select the Company information tab.

  3. Review, edit, or enter the information. Some of it may be automatically filled in and you can change it if you like.

  4. Select Save.

Write an AI Email

To write an email using the AI Writer:

  1. From the AIE menu, select AI Writer.
    The AI writer opens at the Emails page.

  2. Select a template that best suits your campaign’s use case, or select Create new email.

  3. If it’s your first time using AI Writer, a popup shows an educational video that you can watch. Select Dismiss.
    The AI writer page opens.

  4. Select Edit (pencil icon) to give the email a title.

  5. Write or edit the AI prompt.

    • If you previously selected a use case, a prompt is filled out. You can edit the prompt to be more specific about what you want to say.

    • If you selected Create new email, the AI prompt is empty so you can write your own prompt.

  6. When you finish the prompt, select Generate.
    The AI Writer generates an email based on the following information:

    • The campaign template playbook you chose, if relevant.

    • Information uploaded to the training content.

    • Information you supplied on the Company information page.

    • Items highlighted in blue are variables that change based on who gets the email.

  7. Iterate on writing and generating the prompt until you like the generated email.

  8. (Optional) If you would like to save the prompt for future emails, select Save prompt.

    1. In the Save prompt dialog, enter a name.

    2. Select Save.
      Tip: For future reference, saved prompts are listed at AI writer > Saved prompts. From there you can select a prompt and edit or delete it.

  9. Edit the email to customize it even more, if you like.

  10. Iterate your edits and select Re-generate until you are satisfied with the email.

  11. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select Use.
    Tip: You must select Use before selecting Use in Campaign. Otherwise you may see an error message.

  12. Select Use in Campaign.
    The AI Writer uploads the emails to a new campaign, and opens the Introduction email page.
